========================

Cuong Nhu in english means: "Hard Soft"

The style was founded by Grand Master Ngo Dong in 1965. That's Quynh's father. The style started in Vietnam and then later in 1971 at the University of Florida, Gainesville. Master Ngo also had a PhD in Entomology and taught at UF.

Cuong Nhu is made up of seven different styles:

1)Judo: originated in Japan, means "The Soft Way"

2)Aikido: originated in Japan, means "The Way of Internal Strength."

3)Shotokan: originated in Japan, means "The Hall of Shoto." Shoto means pine tree.

4)Vovinam: originated in Vietnam, means "Vietnamese Martial Arts."

5)Wing Chun: originated in China, means, "Beautiful Springtime."

6)Tai Chi: originated in China, means "The Ultimate Fist."

7)Boxing

That's all the info I have to know for my Written Test today for Green Belt. I test for Green belt in about 2 weeks.
