I've never seen Ari's house before. Today I visited him for coffee. I sorta dreamed that he'd have guitars all over the walls and papers stacked in different piles scattered around different rooms. An unfinished painting, faded with warm colors yet with ghost objects lurking in its background, would sit on an easel. Of course, none of that was around. The house was a normal house. But then again, I never got a tour of the house. Ari and I stayed in the kitchen or sat on the sofa and talked. Talked about writing. Writing, writing, writing. Talked about that piece Jolly John. Need to review over it again to check up on fat John. After that Ari said: "You need to read Kurt Vonnegut. You'll like him. Lets go to the book store right now and get him." And after reading a couple pages, the writing was so good that yes I bought two books. Ari: "So have you looked into any Grad Schools?" Me: "Not really, I'll probably follow a girl to some college." Ari: "Not too bad of a choice, my friend." Seems pretty cliche now a days for a guy to follow a girl to a college. Thankfully, it's very easy to go cross country with transfers. When transfering from YU, I was accepted by all my choices except Maryland. Which is good in reflection, I'm sure that the Hillel would have gotten on my nerves. Lots of wasted talk up there. But hell, staying at an university isn't so important unless you are staying for it's reputation (stupid people love a name!) or for a certain teacher. And of course, for that hot girl that will break up with you within the year. Yah, but it was worth the transfer, right? I almost transfered for a girl, almost! But love is fleeting and Atlanta is shitty place to drive in so I don't have a story on this topic. But other guys do! Ask them about it. Some might regret and others will say it's quite the journey. I think my friend Anna said it best, "Testosterone has lead man to many great things." Yes, yes it has.
