Today is another new year, another new beginning.

You might say that this day is no different then an other day. No different then April 3rd or June 14th and that those old problems of the past still linger with us.

Yah, that might make sense. But what makes sense isn't always the right path. Today is an excuse to begin... yet again. When we see the days march on in a straight line, we might feel that there is only one way to go.

It's not true, life is the ticket to many many different paths. Sometimes the bad is the needed path and sometimes good fortune means a drop in the bucket. Today we have to play the fool, that the past is behind us, even though we might know it is still here. Even though Dec 31st isn't so different from Jan 1st. Today starts a new time in our lives.

And if we believe that, then we will go on living. And if we believe rationally that nothing has changed, then we stay the same... and we die with a broken heart.
